Waiting on the World to Change

Different than years past, this season of "waiting" carries a little more weight as we wait for the world to change. Change how? Who knows! But we are all longing for some kind of new hope and optimism as 2020 turns to 2021.
Paul Knapp shared some of the feelings and emotions bubbling beneath the surface of this continued time of waiting for something new.

Story Sunday

Stories. They're on the news. They're on our Facebook and Instagram feeds as videos. Stories, stories, stories. Have you noticed how stories shared with us through technology platforms keep getting shorter and shorter? They're tiny snippets, crafted to consume. We can even tap through them quickly if we're short on time or bored by what we're seeing. During Story Sunday, we slowed down together to listen as three Storyline community members told their stories. These stories lasted more than 30 seconds. These stories were filled with courage and vulnerability. And these stories reminded all of us how uniquely wonderful - yet commonly connected - we are.

THE WAITING

We’ve all heard the verse before. In fact, Mike shared it with us just last week.

“For God loved the world, he gave his only son, and whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It’s an incredible picture, right? But what does it actually mean? Is it truly as simple as Mike made it seem last week, or is there something else happening here. Paul Knapp will dove just a bit deeper into this verse and the “Good News” that comes with it.
