The Christmas Story

The story is one everyone knows. The heroic tale of a young, frightened couple giving birth to the Son of God in an innkeeper's stable. But what's the story behind the story? What is happening beyond the shepherds and angels and frankincense? This past Sunday at the Gathering we set the stage for the divinely scandalous and subversive story of Christmas.

The Path of Peace

It's the most wonderful time of the year, or at least it is supposed to be. Why is it "supposed to be" and why is it so often - not? This is the question Mike Gathright will consider as we begin a month of Gatherings all about Christmas.

It's a question we've all asked at one point or another. However, aren't we really wondering "why do bad things happen to me?" To answer that, we first must wonder... "why do bad things happen at all?" At this Gathering, Paul Knapp wondered aloud how a God we are told is on our side could allow a world where suffering feels inevitable.
