freedom

DIRT ON THE SURFACE

Last weekend we were reminded that for America it is freedom.  For you it might be peace, for someone else joy, still, others might describe it as happiness.  Whatever we may call it, we are all after something, some "highest good" - and we all have faith in something to get us there.

This Sunday morning at Storyline's Gathering Mike Gathright looked at how Jesus turned the world upside down by introducing a new way of experiencing our highest good...and the religious establishment hated him for it.

GOING THE DISTANCE

We've all heard it before and we can't be reminded of it enough - freedom isn't free.  The fourth of July weekend is always a fun time with friends and family to relax and enjoy the summer weather as well as time to reflect on what freedom is.

This Sunday at Storyline's Gathering Mike Gathright explored God's view of freedom and how we might experience and enjoy it.

FREEDOM FOR

In the film, Braveheart, Mel Gibson plays Willliam Wallace, the 13th century Scottish freedom fighter. In one scene Wallace tries to inspire his men before a battle with English army by asking them this question, "what will you do without freedom?" It is a good question - but an even better one may be, "what will you do WITH freedom?"

Sunday at Storyline's Gathering Mike Gathright continued our exploration of - Freedom.  What is it? And most importantly, what is freedom for?

FREEDOM FROM

This weekend our nation celebrates 240 years of freedom.  All these years later freedom seems to still be a very hot commodity; new cars promise it, so do divorce lawyers.
Many people around the world fight for it, we spend billions of dollars every year as a nation to defend it.
But what is "freedom" exactly?  And maybe even more important - what is it for?  These are the questions Mike Gathright  explored this Sunday at Storyline's Gathering.

SHARING, SHAPING, SEEING

Do you know what you want?  Do you know how to get it? Is everything you want working together to move you forward - or maybe not?  Jesus was really interested in these questions and the real desires of his first followers.
Sunday at Storyline's Gathering, Mike Gathright explored why that might be and how Jesus can help us move forward in a world that often confuses our desires.
